My approach

The right people find me, usually when they're in trouble.

I sort them out based on 25+ years of MBA admissions consulting experience with the singular aim of presenting admissions committees with living, breathing profiles that win interview invites, admits, and scholarships.

Every client is different and I tailor my approach accordingly. No constraining templates. No meaningless worksheets. No AI will ever touch your essays. Not on my part at least.

Instead, we rely on intense, personal discussions and questions that reveal and inform our writing and re-writing. We iterate until we get it right. We don't take shortcuts, because there are none when finding and showcasing who you are — and I'll be with you every step of the way with a kind word or a kick in the ass.

01
Scores + story = scholarship.

A great story can overcome weak test scores, but not the other way around.

I'll help you put all the pieces in place.

02
Impact is everything.

Nobody cares where you studied or worked. They care what you did there.

Your actions drive impact. They'll also drive your story.

03
Good essays are easy. An undeniable profile is hard.

The details only you know — once integrated — create that distinction.

I'll ask you the questions that will surface those details.

Ding & Waitlist analyses

I see in you what others don't,
good and bad.

Anonymized excerpts from real analyses.

DingBad spotted

"According to your resume, you've done amazing things. However, I didn't see anywhere in your essays HOW you achieved those things… it leads to essays that are not memorable because they don't highlight your most important leadership qualities."

Multi-school ding analysis

DingBad spotted

"From your email: 'it showed how intellectually elite members can work efficiently if they are willing.' — this could have come across as arrogant to the interviewer."

Multi-school ding analysis

WaitlistBad spotted

"You are currently a senior product manager and your goal is to become a senior product manager. That's not bad by itself. What is bad is that you didn't explain why… more importantly what will be different about your future role that necessitates the MBA."

Waitlist analysis — Duke / HEC / Cornell

Pre-submissionBad spotted

"'Building executive presence' is not a goal. You're essentially saying that in 3-5 years you'll be trying to advance your career. That's understood."

Pre-submission analysis — Wharton / HBS / GSB

Pre-submissionGood & bad

"Self-awareness is one of the keys to the kingdom in MBA admissions… is it a mindless need for achievement, like a shark that has to keep swimming to live, or is there some conscious motivation guided by clear principles?"

Pre-submission analysis — GSB

WaitlistGood spotted

"They are some of the strongest drafts I've seen among the WL/ding analyses I've done recently: clear, strong, and on point. You might have used AI, but they don't read like it."

Waitlist analysis — multi-school
