About

Affordable excellence.

I started The MBA Fixer in late 2023 to provide affordable excellence to a more diverse clientele at a time when MBA consulting fees are becoming laughably unreasonable and unsustainable.

I run The MBA Fixer anonymously while I wind down my more traditional MBA consulting brand, which I've run for over 20 years full-time. I do things differently — with an intense focus on detailed, integrated storytelling. If you're reading this, you're looking for something different in MBA admissions consulting. You've found it.

I'm also the founder and builder of JitterBoss, the world's first community-driven MBA video essay and interview prep platform.

I know my working style is a little unusual, so I sent this note to someone after a trial consultation. It says more about me than any polished bio could.

I'm glad our talk was helpful. I enjoyed speaking with you. Yes, I work anonymously because of my other consulting "brand" that I've run for over 20 years full-time. Unfortunately, it has locked me into working with people of certain career profiles, economic means, and frankly, entitlement, which has made it increasingly unpleasant. Also unfortunately, I'm not in a place where I can completely let it go. Thus the need to work anonymously so as not to clash with my other business. I'm definitely enjoying TMF much more. It's rejuvenated me to work with such interesting people from much more diverse backgrounds.

I'm on the over-educated side with multiple masters from top-tier American public universities, which were funded through full merit scholarships. I'm also the recipient of a highly prestigious international fellowship. As a first-gen college/grad student, I understand on a DNA-level how such education can impact your life, so I treat this job with the utmost respect and a little awe. It really does reveal people.

Like many consultants, I imagine, I began MBA admissions consulting after several people asked me for help on their essays. I found I had a natural talent at helping people tell their own stories in a compelling and directed way, the key to which is finding a level of detail that only the individual knows, and using those details to connect and integrate "sub-stories" into a greater "meta narrative".

When I do ding/waitlist analyses, the biggest problem I find among other highly qualified applicants is that they simply didn't dig deeply enough. My greatest pride and joy in this work is helping clients outperform their "imperfect" stats and profiles through thoughtful, detailed, strategic storytelling. It's definitely a teamwork process. Otherwise, I'm not that interested in helping someone who was "to the manor born". Where's the challenge in that?
